Best Chrysler/Jeep/RAM Scan Tools
#1. Foxwell NT510 for Chrysler
Pros
- Designed for Chrysler/Jeep/RAM
- Durable material and sturdy design
- Active tests supported
Cons
- Takes time to scan codes
Foxwell NT510 is designed specifically for Chrysler, and it has truly impressed us.
What makes the Foxwell NT510 stand out is its wide range of advanced features that cover most home mechanics’ needs. It can perform various tasks, from active tests to service functions, covering about 90% of what you typically need.
During our test, we found that all these functions work seamlessly.
However, it’s important to note that for cars from 2018 onwards, you’ll need a special adapter called the SGW bypass adapter.
In terms of speed, although scanning might take a bit longer if your vehicle has many systems, the scanner operates quickly. For example, scanning 30 systems took us about 3-4 minutes. Navigating between menus or functions can be a bit slow, though.
On the positive side, Foxwell NT510 is built to last and feels sturdy, and the buttons are very responsive.
If you’re looking for a great-value scanner for your Chrysler, we strongly recommend the Foxwell NT510 to meet 90% of home mechanics’ needs.

#2. MOTOPOWER MP69033
Pros
- Super cheap
- Easy to use
- Work well on Chrysler/Jeep/RAM
Cons
- Support basic functions only
If you’re a beginner seeking a simple solution for reading and clearing basic codes, there’s no need to invest in specialized scanners, and that’s why we’ve included the MOTOPOWER MP69033 on our list.
While this scanner isn’t tailor-made for Chrysler, we found it to work efficiently on the Chrysler cars we tested. What stands out for us is its user-friendliness, designed with beginners in mind. It’s easy to navigate and delivers speedy and accurate code readings.
However, the screen is quite small, which can affect the experience when using live data. The responsiveness of live data is a bit choppy as well.
Putting these small drawbacks aside, MOTOPOWER MP69033’s basic functions perform as expected. The best part? It comes at a very affordable price.

#3. CGSULIT SC530
Pros
- Designed for Chrysler/Jeep/RAM
- More affordable price
- Active tests supported
- Fast AutoVIN
Cons
- Unimpressive design
We have an alternative to the Foxwell NT510, but comes at a cheaper price. It’s called the CGSULIT SC530.
The software of this scanner is somehow similar to the Foxwell NT510. As a result, their functions are nearly the same, including active tests and service functions. What stands out and impresses us the most is the wide range of service functions it provides. Depending on the car you have, the functions will vary. But for our tested cars, the numbers are up to 18 functions.
In terms of speed, CGSULIT SC530 performs tasks quite quickly, and we rarely encounter slow loading. While its interface looks much like the Foxwell NT510, we have to admit that its design and button layout aren’t as impressive. We lean towards the Foxwell NT510 in this regard.
We were impressed with the AutoVIN feature, which can pull the VIN quickly. It only takes about 5-10 seconds to get the VIN for one vehicle.
If you’re open to trying a new brand, CGSULIT SC530 offers a cost-effective alternative with functions quite similar to the Foxwell NT510.

#4. LAUNCH CRP129E
Pros
- Large touch screen
- Easily update through WiFi
- Work well on Chrysler/Jeep/RAM
Cons
- A little slow
If you’re a home mechanic, we recommend considering Launch CRP129E, especially if you prefer a touch screen.
Among the scanners on our list, Launch CRP129E is the only one that offers a touch screen. If you’re not a fan of physical buttons, this responsive touch screen has got you covered. What’s even better is that you can easily update it with Wi-Fi – just a simple click. No need to search for a Windows device, unlike some other scanners on the market.
In terms of what it can do, we thoroughly tested its ability to scan codes and 8 service functions. They all perform reliably, as long as your vehicle supports those functions. Additionally, we like the 5-inch screen, which displays live data clearly and refreshes relatively quickly.
However, the scanning process can take a bit of time, taking up to 1 minute to complete with 4 systems. Our second minor concern is that it runs a bit slower and the user interface can be a bit tricky at times.
Overall, we have no major complaints about this scanner. Launch CRP129E offers valuable features for the price, making it a great choice for home mechanics.

#5. BlueDriver
Pros
- Convenient with Bluetooth connection
- Easy to carry
- User-friendly interface
- Work well with RAM 1500/2500
Cons
- Random disconnections
If you prefer a wireless option, especially as a beginner or home mechanic, we recommend Bluedriver.
What really stands out with the Bluedriver is how convenient it is. Unlike wired scanners, it operates via Bluetooth, giving you more flexibility in where and how you use it. Wondering about the connection speed? Well, in our tests, we were able to connect it to our test cars in under 15 seconds, every single time.
While the Bluetooth connection is generally speedy, we did encounter 1-2 disconnects when too far from the scanner. So stay within 16 ft.
When it comes to functions, one of the best features of Bluedriver is its ability to scan all systems in your car.
Even on the latest Chrysler models, the Bluedriver provides full support. You can rely on it for Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and especially RAM 1500/2500 vehicles.
