The Engine Control Module (ECM) communicates with all databus-capable control modules via a CAN databus. These databus-capable control modules are connected via two data bus wires which are twisted together (CAN_High and CAN_Low), and exchange information.
What Are The Potential Causes Of The Volkswagen P1861 Code?
- Throttle Position (TP) Sensor has failed
- Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 2 has failed
- ECM has failed
- Ground (GND) connections between engine and chassis must be OK
- Engine Control Module (ECM) may not connected
