What Does The Honda P1888 Code Mean?

Engine running, and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the A/T 2nd Gear Shaft Speed sensor circuit in the test.

Note: This trouble code is for vehicles with a CVT style transaxle.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Honda P1888 Code?

  • A/T 2nd gear shaft speed sensor circuit is open
  • A/T 2nd gear shaft speed sensor circuit is shorted to ground
  • A/T 2nd gear shaft speed sensor is shorted to VREF
  • A/T 2nd gear shaft speed sensor is damaged or has failed
  • TCM or PCM has failed
