What Does The Honda P1253 Code Mean?

Engine running and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition in the Variable Timing Electronic Control (VTEC) solenoid circuit during the CCM test.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Honda P1253 Code?

  • VTEC solenoid control circuit is open or shorted to ground
  • VTEC solenoid control circuit is shorted to system power (B+)
  • VTEC solenoid is damaged or has failed
  • PCM has failed
