OVERVIEWWhat Does The GMC P1404 Code Mean?
Engine started; ECT sensor from 176-248ºF, IAT sensor below 212ºF, VSS over 10 mph with the Desired EGR position over 15%, then the PCM detected the EGR Position was 0.29v over the EGR learned minimum position with the desired EGR position at 0%.
What Are The Potential Causes Of The GMC P1404 Code?
- EGR sensor signal circuit is shorted to VREF or system voltage
- EGR sensor VREF circuit is shorted to system power
- EGR sensor ground circuit is open or has high resistance
- EGR sensor is damaged or has failed (sensor/solenoid unit)
