What Does The Ford P1489 Code Mean?

This DTC sets when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects a positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) heater circuit failure. Make sure the PCV valve is correct for the engine application and the PCV heater circuit is properly connected.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Ford P1489 Code?

  • Open or shorted PCV circuit
  • Damaged PCV heater assembly
