OVERVIEWWhat Does The Chevrolet P1574 Code Mean?
Engine speed over 700 rpm (wheel speed indicates more than 30 mph in order to enable the test, and the test will disable when wheel speed is less than 10 mph), then vehicle speed decreased at a rate greater than 10.4 mph in 1 second.
What Are The Potential Causes Of The Chevrolet P1574 Code?
- Brake switch circuit is open, shorted to ground or shorted to B+
- Brake switch power circuit is open (test STOP/HAZARD fuse)
- Brake switch is out-of-adjustment, damaged or has failed
- EBTCM has failed
How Can You Fix The Chevrolet P1574 Code?
Inspect for the following:

the connector gaskets when diagnosing or replacing a
component. Ensure that the gaskets are installed
correctly. The gaskets prevent contaminate intrusion.
- Poor terminal connection.

clean and secure connections.
