What Does The Chevrolet P1405 Code Mean?

Engine started; ECT sensor over 183ºF, vehicle driven in 1st or 2nd gear to a speed over 20 mph at a speed of 1000-1488 rpm, then vehicle in coast-down mode, HO2S signal over 566 mv, A/C Clutch “off”, and the PCM detected the engine speed did not decrease 4 out of 5 times in the test.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Chevrolet P1405 Code?

  • EGR tube is clogged or restricted, or the EGR valve is sticking
  • EGR Solenoid 3 control circuit is open or shorted to ground
