What Does The Cadillac P1554 Code Mean?

Engine started; Cruise Control module signal sent to inhibit cruise control operation, and the PCM detected a cruise “engage” signal that indicated that cruise control was still engaged. The PCM will not allow the cruise control to operate under certain conditions.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1554 Code?

Below are some potential causes of this DTC:

  • Cruise control inhibit circuit is open or shorted to ground
  • SMCC II cruise control module is damaged or has failed
  • PCM has failed
