What Does The Cadillac P1551 Code Mean?

Key on, engine speed less than 40 rpm, ECT sensor from 41-212ºF, IAT sensor over 41ºF, system voltage over 10v, APP sensor signal under 15%, and the PCM detected the throttle blade was at “rest” position with the TP angle under 2.1% or over 9.8%.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1551 Code?

  • TAC motor circuit (one or more) shorted to ground
  • Throttle valves not in a “rest’ position due to stuck open/closed
  • Throttle valves moving open or closed without spring pressure
  • Throttle body assembly is damaged or it has failed
  • PCM has failed
