OVERVIEWWhat Does The BMW P1629 Code Mean?
During the spring test the diagnostic function monitors the throttle valve to determine whether it returns to the
emergency-air position within the specified period when no voltage is being applied.
The fault is recognized when the throttle valve does not return to an aperture of more than 7.4% within 560 ms
when voltage is not being applied to the unit.
What Are The Potential Causes Of The BMW P1629 Code?
Below are some potential causes of this DTC:
- Plate is sticking
- Defective return spring
- DVE electrical activation defective.
- DVE motor wiring may have shorted
- Throttle valve is contaminated with foreign objects
