What Does The BMW P1377 Code Mean?

Engine started, battery voltage must be at least 11.5v, after five camshaft revolutions, the DME detected the CMP sensor signal was implausible. Perhaps a defect in the power supply. Reduced power occurs and once the engine is turned off, it is impossible.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The BMW P1377 Code?

Below are some potential causes of this DTC:

  • CMP sensor circuit is open or shorted to ground
  • CMP sensor circuit is shorted to power
  • CMP sensor ground (return) circuit is open
  • CMP sensor installation incorrect (Hall-effect type)
  • CMP sensor is damaged or CMP sensor shielding damaged
