What Does The Audi P1425 Code Mean?

This code indicates the condition that:

Ignition off. The Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve in the tank venting system or activation wire has a short circuit to ground. Engine started, engine running at a steady cruise speed, canister vent solenoid enabled, and the ECM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the Canister Vent solenoid circuit.

Note: Solenoid valve is closed when no voltage is present.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Audi P1425 Code?

Below are some potential causes of this DTC:

  • Activation wire has a short to ground
  • ECM has failed
  • EVAP canister has failed
  • EVAP canister system has an improper or broken seal
  • Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve is faulty
  • Leak Detection Pump (LDP) is faulty
