OVERVIEWWhat Does The Acura B1181 Code Mean?
This code indicates poor communication the Gauge Control Module and MPCS unit.
Note:
- If DTCs B1014, B1015, B1064, B1065, B1613, B1614, and B1811 also indicated, perform the driver’s MPCS input test
- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A.
What Are The Potential Causes Of The Acura B1181 Code?
Below are some possible causes of this DTC:
- Loose or poor connections between the Gauge Control Module and the driver’s MPCS unit
- Perform the driver’s MPCS unit input test
- Perform the Gauge Control Module input test
- “Open” or “Short” between the Gauge Control Module and the driver’s MPCS Unit
- Blown fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
- Blown fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box
- Faulty Gauge Control Module
- Faulty MPCS Unit
