What Does The Cadillac P1833 Code Mean?

Engine started, system voltage from 8-18v, and the TCM detected a short to ground on the HSD2 circuit with the HSD2 commanded on. The TCM provides power to the pressure control solenoid, the shift solenoids, and the TCC PWM solenoid.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1833 Code?

  • Pressure control solenoid control circuit is shorted to ground
  • Pressure control solenoid is damaged or it has failed
  • Transmission internal harness assembly may be shorted
  • TCM has failed
