What Does The Cadillac P1701 Code Mean?

Engine started; and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage on the Mil Request circuit for 2.5 seconds. This code indicates that a transmission related OBD II failure has occurred. The TCM controls a dedicated Service Transmission Soon (STS) lamp that illuminated.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1701 Code?

  • MIL request circuit is open, shorted to ground or shorted to B+
  • TCM has failed
  • PCM has failed
