What Does The Cadillac P1662 Code Mean?

Engine started, vehicle driven to a speed of over 40 rpm, system voltage over 10.0v, Cruise Control engaged, and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage on the Cruise Lamp driver control circuit. The PCM turns the CRUISE lamp “on” whenever cruise operation.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1662 Code?

  • Cruise lamp control circuit is open, shorted to ground or to B+
  • Cruise lamp power circuit is open or the bulb is open (in IPC)
  • IPC had failed or the PCM has failed
