What Does The Cadillac P1653 Code Mean?

Engine speed over 600 rpm, and the PCM detected the Actual and Commanded state of the Oil Level Lamp driver control circuit did not match for 5 seconds during the CCM test.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1653 Code?

Below are some potential causes of this DTC:

  • Oil level lamp control circuit is open, shorted to ground or to B+
  • Oil level lamp power circuit is open (test the IP INDC fuse)
  • Oil level lamp (bulb) is open or missing
  • PCM has failed
