What Does The Cadillac P1578 Code Mean?

DTC P0107, P0108, P1107, P1577 and P1602 not set, engine started, engine speed over 500 rpm for 20 seconds, BARO sensor over 72 kPa, MAP sensor more than 60 kPa, brake pedal not applied, and the PCM detected the Brake Booster Vacuum signal input of 5 kPa or less for 16 seconds.

What Are The Potential Causes Of The Cadillac P1578 Code?

Below are some potential causes of this DTC:

  • BBV sensor signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
  • BBV sensor VREF is open or shorted to ground
  • BBV sensor is damaged or has failed
  • Base engine problem (i. e. , engine vacuum leaks, PCV leaks)
  • Leaking vacuum components or vacuum lines
  • PCM has failed
